Shopping at my local art supply shop I came across a bin of Halloween inspired fabrics. For one dollar per fat quarter I couldn't resist. Grabbed a bunch of them cause, hey ya never know.
These two caught my eye right away!
I was inspired to create a Frankentween. Have some more painting to do yet but I'll sit down tonight and sketch out an adorable little dress for this gal. Just ordered some hair this morning so it will be a couple of days before I can wig her.
I joined a doll swap back in October before Hurricane Sandy and unfortunately the doll I made for my swap partner was destroyed along with everything else I owned. I got in touch with her to call off the swap, there was no way I could participate at that point. She was so sweet about it and understood but instead of calling it off she sent me the doll she had made for me. It really made my day when I received it. Now that I have the tools and supplies I need to create again, I was able to sit down this week and make a doll for my swap partner. Finally.
Well as you all know we were hit hard by Hurricane Sandy and as a result I lost my art studio, in fact the house is unlivable and won't be for the long foreseeable future. Little by little I am buying new supplies and equipment so I can start working again on what I love. In the meantime I am keeping busy with an animation program called iClone5. If you have any interest in computer animation then this post is for you. I purchased this program many years ago (iClone3) but was never able to get the hang of it. Bit of a learning curve. Since then though, Ive used many different art programs and it came easier to me this time. I have since upgraded to iClone5. I am having so much fun with this program. The possibilities are endless. If you have even one creative bone in your body you will love this program. You can create custom avatars, I just love torturing my friends and family with this little feature. LOL
Examples of custom avatars:
Me, face painted as a Zombie and my custom avatar.
Singer, song writer Lucan Wolf
Lucan's custom avatar
Walker from Walker and the Brotherhood of the Grape
Walker's custom avatar
Pretty cool, eh?
Also, if you have Photoshop skills and 3d drawing skills, check out Sketchup. Available for free online
You can create all of your own custom props and scenery for your productions. If you don't have these skills, fear not, Google Warehouse has thousands of models for free that you can download through iClone 3d xchange program.
