Iron Maiden's Eddie

Came home from work exhausted today.  Sculpting relaxes me but couldn't come up with an original idea this evening to save my life.  So I figured I would regurgitate someone Else's.  My Sister Adrienne is the hugest Iron Maiden fan since back in the day.  I've been wanting to make her an Eddie doll for a while.  Thought I would share.

Jeepers Kreepers Skeleton Art Doll 2012

Just finished her.  I do so enjoy sewing now that I am no longer playing a guessing game on how to.  Some dolls you hate to part with but then your home starts becoming the creepy doll house.  Oh well, I hope someone out there will love her as much as I do.

She is 18" tall.  Hand sewn and painted articulated body.  Custom costume sewn by me.  Head sculpted from polymer clay and hand painted.  Hand mad leather shoes.

Boo Doll - Sulley

Art Doll for a Nurse.  She had liked my original Boo Boo doll Maddie so for her birthday her sister commissioned me to create her.  She ships out in the morning.

Skeleton Doll Dress

Well, didn't get as much done as I would have liked today.  I really wanted to finish this doll.  But I did get her dress done though.  Now for the bonnet and leather shoes.  Unfortunately delirium has set in and I must sleep!  I get most of my ideas and work done late at night.  Must stem from the years of  working nights. Too bad my boss now, expects me to be bright eyed at 9 am tomorrow morning.

Skeleton Doll - Work in Progress

I don't know what it is but I love skeletons.  I frequently incorporate them into my art.
I tried a new pattern by Deanna Hogan called Averill.  Check out her website for tons of patterns and inspirational ideas in art doll creating.

I love sculpting my own heads and sometimes hands.  I also had no problem with coming up with ideas for costumes and making shoes but I was totally clueless on making a stuffed body and tried many times unsuccessfully.  I came across Deanna's site and love her patterns.  I have bought a few of them since.  You can purchase her patterns and create one of her dolls from head to toe or use her patterns to enhance your own art as I have done.  Great for beginners too.

This is a work in progress.

I am sewing her a dark Victorian dress and bonnet.  Some leather shoes or boots too.
