Departed Darlingz - Victoria

Finally completed Victoria, she's been sitting on my desk as a work in progress for a while now.  So I am happy to add her today to my Departed Darlingz series of dolls.  Victoria is sculpted out of polymer clay over a wire armature.  Her costume is sewn from an original pattern and her shoes are handmade of leather.

She is sculpted of polymer clay including her boots, painted with acrylics and shaded with artist chalk.  Hand sewn wool hair and costume.

I have some beautiful hair, fabric, bibs and bobs coming in the mail this week for these little guys.  I really just love dark little dollies!

 

Little Miss Melody

Little Miss Melody magically shrunk to the size of a songbird.  Tragically caged and kept to sing for her supper much to the delight of her captor.

Princess Melody - A work in Progress

While out shopping this weekend I came across this bird cage and set of rusted keys.  They instantly became the inspiration for my latest project.

Inspired by the wonderful fabric I picked up in the sale bin at the art supply store last week.  This little lady is made entirely of polymer clay, including her shoes which is something I don't normally do.
